I was born in Sunridge, Nova Scotia and graduated 2009 from NSCAD University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Photography. I work primarily in the traditional medium, focusing on large and medium format and experiments with alternative processes. Much of my work is influenced by time--in terms of duration and progression. My interest and practice lie within the archival, aesthetic and technical possibilities of the pre-digital photographic processes. Currently, my ongoing interest is in building and exhibiting works from "By Moonlight"--a series of exagerated long exposures of our landscapes luminated only by night's celestial light.
Along with my interest in landscape/nature I also work in documentary photography and have covered one of Americas most reputable children's summer camp and also worked on documenting the year round farmers' markets in Nova Scotia. I have taught photography at Ross Creek Centre for the Arts in Canning where began efforts to establish the Annapolis Valley's first Community Darkroom. I work on photo restoration projects and freelanced web design, and volunteer with community garden projects. I am currently pursuing applying to Ryerson's Photographic Preservation and Collections Management masters program while continuing to make archival, aesthetic works of photographic art.
